What Are the Most Common Device Enrollment Issues and How Can They Be Resolved?

40 views 0

1. What should I do if Gmail is not syncing in the Work Profile during enrollment?

During device enrollment, you may see a prompt in the Gmail app asking you to click “Sync device”, but the sync may not start. This usually happens when sync settings are disabled in the Work Profile.

To resolve this issue:

  • Open Settings on your device.
  • Go to Users & Accounts.
  • Select Work Profile.
  • Turn on Auto Sync (Work Data).
  • Restart your device.

Once the device restarts, Gmail should begin syncing emails normally within the Work Profile.

2. What can cause device enrollment to fail in miniOrange MDM, and how can I fix it?

Device enrollment may fail or not complete due to existing Work Profiles, residual configurations, or cached data on the device.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  • Remove the existing Work Profile to prevent enrollment conflicts.
Go to: Settings → Accounts / Users & Accounts → Work Profile → Remove, then delete the Work Profile.
  • Restart the device to clear temporary system issues affecting enrollment.
  • Clear the Google Play Services cache to remove corrupted or outdated data.
Go to: Settings → Apps → Google Play Services → Storage → Clear Cache.
  • Retry device enrollment by starting the enrollment process again.

These steps help ensure a clean setup and successful enrollment.

3. Why are MDM policies not applied on the device after enrollment, and how can I fix it?

In some cases, the latest policies from the MDM server may not be applied immediately after enrollment. This can result in missing configurations or restrictions on the device.

To fix this, you can manually sync policies using the Sync Policies option.

Steps based on device type:

  • Realme and Motorola devices:
    • Open Settings
    • Navigate to Security & Privacy
    • Tap Your Work Policy Info
    • Click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner
    • Select Sync Policies
  • Samsung devices:
    • Open Settings
    • Navigate to Security & Privacy
    • Tap Controls and Alerts
    • Select Your Work Policy Info
    • Click the three-dot menu (⋮)
    • Select Sync Policies
  • Vivo devices:
    • Open Settings
    • Navigate to Security & Privacy
    • Tap More Privacy Settings
    • Select Your Work Policy >
    • Click the three-dot menu (⋮)
    • Select Sync Policies
  • iQOO devices:
    • Open Settings
    • Navigate to Privacy Dashboards
    • Select Your Work Policy Info
    • Click the three-dot menu (⋮)
    • Select Sync Policies

Manually syncing ensures the device receives and applies the latest MDM policies correctly.
