How to disable Shopify’s default login and enable Microsoft Azure sign-in for customers?

58 views May 16, 2025 0

You can hide Shopify's default customer login/register page and redirect customers to log in using their Microsoft Azure credentials by using the auto-redirect to IDP feature in our Single Sign-On (SSO) application. When customers attempt to access your Shopify store, they will be redirected to the Microsoft Azure login page for authentication. Once authenticated, they will be granted access to the store.

Steps to follow:

    • Navigate to Apps >> miniOrange Single Sign On - SSO application.

    • Now navigate to the Pricing section in the left menu and click on the Upgrade button under the Scale Plan. (If you have B2B users, click on the Employee tab to check out the pricing and upgrade the plan)

    • Navigate to the Global Configurations tab and enable Auto Redirect to IDP feature under Store Access Settings.

    • If you see a warning box to enable the auto redirect IDP extension then click on the link as shown in the below image to enable the feature.

    • Enable the extension as shown in the below image and click on Save.

    • Choose from the dropdown where you want to apply this feature: on the Complete Store or on the Login Page.

    • Click on Save.

Store staff will still be able to log in using Shopify's default login option. Staff members can access the Shopify Admin dashboard and click on the Preview Store option. From there, they can log in using the default Shopify login credentials, as the auto-redirect to IDP feature will not work in Preview mode.

This setup ensures that while customers are redirected to Microsoft Azure for authentication, store staff can continue to gain access through the standard Shopify login process.
