The reset option is not available on company-owned devices because it is controlled by device management (MDM). To reset the device for new enrollment, follow the steps below:

Steps to reset the device:

Log in to the miniOrange UEM dashboard and follow the steps below:

Option 1: Deprovision the device (Recommended)

  • Go to Device Inventory → Devices → Android and view the list of devices.
  • Search for the device using its serial number and click on the actions button (⋮) next to the device.
  • Click on the Deprovision option.
  • The device will reset automatically and be ready for new enrollment.

Option 2: Enable reset from policy

  • Go to Device Policies → Android → Policies.
  • Select the policy applied to the device and click on the actions button (⋮).
  • Click Clone, provide the required details, and click the Clone button.
  • Clone Android device policy from policy list
Enter details while creating cloned Android policy

  • Locate the cloned policy, click on the actions button(⋮), and select Edit.
  • Edit cloned Android device policy settings

  • Navigate to the Security tab. Locate the Factory Reset option, set it to Allow, and click Submit.
  • Enable factory reset option in Android policy security settings

  • Go to Device Groups → Android and click on Add Device Group.
  • Create new Android device group in dashboard

  • In the Create Android Device Group window, enter the Group Name, Description, and select the cloned policy. Click Next.
  • Enter group name description and select cloned policy

  • In the Associated Devices tab, select the device you want to reset and click Submit.
  • Assign device to Android device group for reset

This setting enables users to perform a factory reset from the device settings without impacting devices associated with the original policy.

After completing the above steps, you will see the Factory Reset option on the device in the system settings, allowing you to reset the device when required.
