Why am I seeing the “WPO01 – Invalid Login Attempt” error while trying to log in as an admin via SSO?

51 views 0

This error occurs when the email associated with your WordPress admin account does not match the email provided by your Identity Provider (IDP) during Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication.

To enhance security, we now verify that the email in your WordPress admin account matches the email from your IDP exactly. If these emails don’t match, you’ll see the Error WPO01 message.

How to resolve this issue:
  • Make sure the email address in your WordPress admin account matches the email address provided by your IDP.
  • If the emails are different, you’ll need to update one of them to match the other—either in your WordPress admin account or in your IDP.
Example:

If your WordPress admin email is admin@mywebsite.com, but your IDP has admin123@mywebsite.com, you’ll need to update either the email in your WordPress account or your IDP to ensure both are the same.

Once both emails match, you’ll be able to log in successfully without encountering the error.
