What should I do if my X.509 certificate in Microsoft Entra ID has expired?

To renew the expired X.509 certificate, please follow these steps:

  • Open the Shopify SSO application, and for your corresponding identity provider (Entra ID), click on More Actions >> Edit.

  • Microsoft Entra ID SSO - Edit IDP

  • Remove the expired X.509 certificate and upload a new one from your Microsoft Entra ID account, scroll down and click Save.

  • Microsoft Entra ID SSO - Renew x509 certificate

  • To verify that the SSO is functioning correctly, click on Attribute Mapping >> Test Connection.

  • Microsoft Entra ID SSO - Test Connection

  • Enter your Entra ID credentials. A test successful window will pop-up indicating that the Single Sign-On was successful and is running smoothly.
