Why do my SAML assertions fail due to time issues (clock skew) when using ADFS with WordPress SSO?

Probable Cause:

The server clocks for ADFS, WordPress SP, or domain controllers are not synchronized, causing SAML assertions to fall outside acceptable time limits.

Solution:

  1. Ensure the ADFS server clock is synchronized using NTP.
  2. Confirm that the clock on the WordPress server (SP) is in sync with the same NTP source.
  3. Verify that the allowable time skew does not exceed configured limits.
