When the Tableau chart is embedded in the WordPress site, the SSO user is not able to view the chart even though the user is logged in WordPress. What should I do?

3 reasons why users cannot view the embedded iframes on the WordPress site.

Problem 1: Default Authentication Type for Embedded Views not selected.

Solution:

    • Login into your Tableau Account as an Administrator.
    • Navigate to the Settings, and go to Authentication.
    • Go to Default Authentication Type for Embedded Views and select SAML.

Problem 2: Embedding options not selected for the users accessing embedded views.

Solution:

    • Login into your Tableau Account as an Administrator.
    • Navigate to the Settings, and go to Authentication.
    • Under Embedding Options choose Authenticate using an inline frame (less secure; not supported by all IDPs)

Problem 3: Users not assigned with SAML Authentication access.

Solution:

    • Login into your Tableau Account as an Administrator.
    • Navigate to the Users, and add the user with which you intend to perform SSO and select its authentication type as SAML.
